Pilates Chair
The Pilates Chair, also known as the Wunda Chair, consists of a seat, a pedal and springs that attach to the pedal to provide resistance. The chair was designed as a home exercise machine for people living in New York City apartments. The early design of this chair easily converted from a chair you could sit on in your living room to a wunda chair that you could use to exercise.
In recent years, there have been changes made to the original Wunda chair making it more versatile for exercises. Some chairs feature a split pedal which challenges core and scapular stability, mimics reciprocal movements such as walking and allows for added planes of movement with certain exercises.
